Who needs big Tigers and Panthers for your little toy Germans when you could have a Sd.Kfz. 221 recce vehicle? It’s small, it has crappy armour, it’s only got a machine gun! Great stuff! This is a resin one in 28mm from Warlord.
You can’t really field a late war Motor Platoon without their main ride: the M5 half track. There are a couple of plastic kits out there for the very similar M3 half track, but for my Polish 1st Armoured I decided to get the resin kit of an actual M5 from Warlord.
We’re a bit spoilt for choice in 28mm armour right now. Besides the traditional resins we’ve got loads of plastic vehicles coming onto the market, with Warlord teaming up with Italeri and newcomer Rubicon jumping in with both feet. So instead of one tank in today’s review you get two. Well actually three!
I think I have a tank problem. I’ve realised I enjoy painting armour a lot more than infantry, and keep buying new ones while my big pile of unpainted lead men goes unloved. Of well, what can you do? Time for a chunk of German self-propelled arty: the 105mm Wespe.
